The Banter Blitz Cup is a 128-player knockout tournament on chess24 where all the players are required to stream their thoughts as they play. The prize fund is $50,000, with $14,000 for the overall winner. There is no fixed schedule as matches are scheduled for times that are convenient for both players, but all streams will be shown on our Shows page.

Each match consists of 16 3-minute blitz games, so the winner is the first to reach 8.5 points. If the players are tied another pair of 3-min games is played. If tied again another pair of 3-min games is played. If still tied the players switch to 1-min games and play as many pairs of games as required to produce a winner.
